The Regional District of Nanaimo offers a variety of non-facility based programs, special events, and specialized services through the Recreation Coordinating function to the residents of District 69.
Key areas of programming include preschool and adult, children and youth, summer camps, special events such as the Terry Fox Run and Winter Wonderland on Ice. Other key areas of service include a financial access program, inclusion for people with various ranges of abilities, a volunteer program, and field scheduling. Program participants and the taxpayers of Electoral Areas E, F, G, and H and the municipalities of Parksville and Qualicum Beach, all financially support the Recreation Coordinating function.
