Qualicum Beach, BC – The construction on the Beach Washroom has begun.
“Our beach is our most beautiful and visible attraction”, said Mayor Westbroek, “and to make this facility a more accessible and family-friendly area, only enhances the experience for our residents and visitors that come to our waterfront”.
The much needed improvements to the structure include new floor coverings, countertops, lighting, and hot water showers. Upgraded electrical service will also be included in the extensive renovation. During this time, the Beach Washroom Electric Vehicle Charging Station will be inaccessible; however, the station will be up and running again upon completion of the project. Electrical Vehicle Charging Stations are located at the Qualicum Beach Airport, Qualicum Beach Civic Centre and in the Town Hall Underground Parkade.
Council awarded the tender for the Beach Washrooms renovation to Don May Construction at a total cost of $239,207.49. Funding for the project includes $25,000 from the Province of British Columbia with the difference coming from the Town’s budget.
Portable facilities are available during this time of construction which is expected to be complete July 2018. For more information, please contact the Town Hall 250.752.6921, [email protected]
