The Town incorporated Pheasant Glen into the Town and amended the zoning and OCP to specifically allow and support the development of a destination resort at this location. Permanent residential was prohibited to ensure that the Town did not inadvertently lose the valuable tourism potential of this site. Considering the long-standing support for a destination resort, staff are recommending a course of action that will advance toward a more flexible development concept while ensuring that what is ultimately built is consistent with the Town’s vision for a destination resort.
In order for Pheasant Glen to fulfill its potential as a tourism resort the following actions were required:
