How to Apply for the Preauthorized Prepayment Plan
You may also visit Town Hall for an application form (Hours: Monday – Friday 9am - 4pm, excluding Statutory Holidays). How is my Prepayment Amount Calculated? The maximum monthly prepayment is equivalent to the prior year’s taxes (gross less any Home Owner Grant Claim) divided by the number of months remaining to the month of May of the targeted tax year. For example, if their current year, gross property taxes were $2,300 and they had claimed a $770 Home Owner Grant, their monthly prepayment would be $139 ([$2,300 - $770] / 11), starting in July. If applying later in the year, the monthly calculated amount would increase.
How is my Prepayment Amount Calculated?
Home owners are also able to select any amount below the maximum monthly amount to pay towards their annual property tax bill.
