The Home Owner Grant offered by the Province of British Columbia is designed to reduce the amount of property tax you pay for your principal residence.

How to Apply
The Town of Qualicum Beach cannot accept Home Owner Grant applications. All eligible homeowners are required to apply for their Home Owner Grant with the Province of BC, either:
- Online, using the Provincial Government Application Form
- By telephone at 1.888.355.2700.
Once you receive your 2025 Property Tax notice in the mail, an application for the 2025 Home Owner Grant can be submitted to the Province. To avoid penalties and interest, applications must be received on or before the property tax due date of July 2, 2025.
The following information will be required to complete the Home Owner Grant application:
- Jurisdiction number for the Town of Qualicum Beach: 565.
- Roll number: Located on the front of property tax notice.
- Your Social Insurance Number.

Retroactive Home Owner Grant Applications
If you qualified for a Home Owner Grant in 2023 but did not apply, you may be eligible for a retroactive Home Owner Grant.
Important Notes
As of 2021, only the Province of BC can accept Home Owner Grant applications.
A payment is not required to claim the grant.
The Home Owner Grant must be claimed each year that you are eligible.
