The Qualicum Beach Airport received $1,395,360 from the Transport Canada Airports Capital Assistance Program for Airport Lighting Rehabilitation. The project performed important airfield lighting upgrades, including runway and taxiway LED edge lights. Many aspects of the Airport Lighting Rehabilitation project were considered urgent and were well past their expected service lifespan.

The work included:

  • Runway Edge Lighting
  • Taxiway/Apron Edge Lighting
  • Illuminated Windsocks
  • Upgrade to full Precision Approach Path Indication (PAPI) systems
  • Field Electrical Centre (FEC) Equipment Replacement
  • New FEC Building
  • New Illuminated Airfield Guidance Signs
  • New Apron Floodlighting
