Quality of Life Survey

The Town conducts a Quality of Life Survey approximately every six years, in conjunction with an Official Community Plan (OCP) Review.

The 2025 survey has two parts, each with a different purpose:

  • Part 1 of the survey asks questions about how satisfied residents are with the Town’s services, and if there are other services they would like to see available in the future. This helps to guide decisions about how Town services will be delivered.
  • Part 2 of the survey provides feedback for the 2025 Official Community Plan (OCP) Review. The OCP is the overarching plan for the Town for the future that provides goals, objectives, and policies specifically related to land use. This OCP review requires that all municipalities update their OCP with a focus on housing by the end of 2025.
  • March 2025 – OCP Review process launches.
  • Jan-Feb 2025 – Conduct Quality of Life Survey (QLS).
  • Q4 2024 – Develop Quality of Life Questions with input from key committees and groups.
  • Oct 2024 – Issue Tender for Quality of Life Survey.
  • Sept 2023 – Appoint OCP Steering Committee.
  • Jan 13-Feb 16 –  The Quality of Life (QLS) survey was launched the week of January 13, 2025, with a postcard mailed to all residents and property owners of Qualicum Beach. Those without a code may also complete the survey, and their results will be tabulated separately.
  • Mar 2025 – Survey results will be presented to Council and the public, with the findings providing direction on how the Town can improve how they are meeting community needs

The Town’s last Quality of Life Survey was conducted in 2018 as part of the Official Community Plan.
