The Qualicum Beach skatepark was constructed approximately 25 years ago and is currently in the process of demolition and reconstruction.

In 2023, New Line Skateparks was engaged to undertake a Feasibility Study, including a conceptual plan, project scope and potential budget. This study recommended reconstructing the current skatepark with a new facility.

The Town of Qualicum Beach allocated $1.2M in funding toward the total estimated construction budget of $1.3M. A community group has initiated a fundraising campaign through the Canada Helps platform, with funds raised through this platform, as well as from successful grant applications, transferred to the Town for management in a dedicated account. More than $130,000 has already been raised by the local skateboarding community to make the project viable.

The user group continues to fundraise for enhancements beyond the currently approved budget—such as colored concrete, landscaping, and a covered area. The Town has also authorized community members and skatepark advocates to apply for grants to raise funding for the Qualicum Beach Skatepark project.
