The funding, awarded by Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM), will allow the Town to collaborate with Vancouver Island University to gather and document best practices and resources from a full scope of development application participants, and develop a robust toolkit of resources for all main development approvals and processes.
The outcomes will improve the quality of development applications, the efficiency of municipal application reviews, and communication between all participants involved in the process for Qualicum Beach. This toolkit will be scalable, adaptable, and available to all other small BC communities. Outcomes will include the development of forms, guides, processes, and recommendations.
