The 2012 plan for the West Ridge subdivision included a landscaped buffer between Laburnum Road and West Ridge Way to reduce noise and other pollutants. It was proposed to be a low-maintenance area with native trees and shrubs.
Unfortunately, most of the original trees and plantings died and it did not establish as a continuous vegetated buffer. There are significant stretches of grass that are trimmed only as required to mitigate fire hazards.
As residents of the neighbourhood, we would like your input on how this area should be managed in the future.
